Banfield's Optimum Wellness Plan (OWP) is a prepaid package of routine preventive care — not insurance — usable only at Banfield Pet Hospital locations.

What It Covers

Depending on the tier, plans typically include unlimited office visits, core vaccinations, routine diagnostics, and 24/7 telehealth. Higher tiers add dental cleaning and more advanced screening.

What It Doesn't Cover

OWPs exclude accidents, illnesses, surgery for injuries, and emergency or after-hours care — for that, you'd need a separate pet insurance policy.

When It's Worth It

• You already use Banfield as your regular vet and go 2+ times a year
• A higher tier's included dental cleaning alone would otherwise cost several hundred dollars
• You value predictable monthly payments over pay-per-visit billing

When It's Not Worth It

If you don't live near a Banfield location, prefer an independent vet, or rarely need routine visits, the plan's value drops quickly — you may pay more through the plan than you'd spend out of pocket.
